Back at it!
This week I trained for about nine hours! Not crazy I know, but with a wife, two kids under the age of three, and two dogs, it's not bad. My amazing wife gave me the perfect father's day gift for any endurance sport loving husband, a garmin 910xt. This in itself should keep me motivated to get up and train by 5 am at least an extra day or two each week. Super tough with the NBA Finals on right now! I actually hit the pool four times this week, biked three, and ran twice. Still some achilles issues so my running is coming around slowly. I tried a track workout Tuesday which left me slightly hobbled the rest of the week. I don't seem to be able to run much faster than 6 minute mile pace without pain, but I can run on incline with limited trouble. Being that I live in Florida, it means I will be hanging out with the treadmill a little more than I hoped. All three bike workouts were done close to threshold. I need to learn to endure the pain on the bike again. As for the pool, I just need time in the water. None of my swims exceeded 2,500 yds and most were around or under 2,000. You have to start somewhere!!
